K-W Oktoberfest Inc. Board of Directors Appoints Alfred Lowrick as the Organization’s Executive Director

(Kitchener-Waterloo, Canada – January 26, 2018) – The Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Alfred Lowrick as the organization’s new Executive Director effective immediately. Alfred stepped into the Executive Director position on a temporary basis back in September of 2017.

After an exhaustive search for a permanent replacement, the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Board of Directors came to the conclusion that the most qualified candidate was already sitting in the Executive Director chair and decided to make the arrangement permanent.

“Alfred brings proven leadership to this position serving as the organization’s President in 2015-2016 and as the President of the Transylvania Club from 2002-2013. He is absolutely devoted to our brand and we feel he can confidently and strategically guide Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest through this important chapter of our 50 year history”, says Margo Jones, President of Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. “He has been a major influencer in the Festival’s fabric over the last twenty years and brings a strong background in human resources management, communications, strategic planning and corporate relations. We are fortunate to have someone with Alfred’s competence and experience to step into this complex and demanding position. We are confident that Alfred will strategically lead the Festival as we continue to celebrate the cultural fabric and German heritage of our community. Alfred has very strong ties to many of our valued business partners, sponsors, Festhall operators and volunteers.”

“I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to work for Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest and it’s over 500 volunteers who are the heart, soul and embodiment of what we do,” says Lowrick. “I have so much respect and admiration for the businesses, sponsors and our extensive community service partners that make up our brand and organization.”
